I'm Andrew. I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota and have worked with non-profits, small businesses, and Fortune 500 companies.
I started as a web designer and engineer and naturally migrated to my passion of user experience. I've usually been a 'UX Team of One' working the user research and design sides of the street while having fun and solving business problems. Now I work with a team of content, research, and UX designers.
I have sat on an enterprise technology review board, created enterprise UX standards, and provided UX feedback on a broad range of products. This exposure has taught me projects are unique and often require different solutions and perspectives. I've also learned that skipping user research and testing often results in costly rework after launch.
I've worked as a user interface and experience designer, front-end engineer, solution analyst, and author. Whatever the job title, I strive to make a positive difference.
My Design Principles
- Honesty — I strive to be honest. Even when it is difficult, it is the right thing to do
- Humility — I don't have all the right answers. There's always somebody that knows more. Listening to others and looking at evidence is usually the best option.
- Humanist — I design for people. That means a successful design puts their needs first.
